I had liked your Why's and i like to answer it... :)
Its only perception. When you are not there, the unanswered calls flash in ur screen as 'X missed calls' and u (count) come to knw it. When you are actually there, u answer a call and ur mind doesn't count the call.There is the difference. The probability of getting missed calls would be less when compared.But dont ask me "Why does the phone does not ring when I am holding it?" ...I have no answer he he!
